Unity in Freedom: Celebrating Filipino Culture in Sweden
A Filipino Community Initiative in Sweden
The 12th of June marks a pivotal moment in the history of the Philippines – the day we gained our independence and took our first steps toward freedom. For Filipinos around the world, this day serves as a reminder of our rich history, our shared struggles, and the resilient spirit that unites us all.
Here in Gothenburg, we invite you to join us as we celebrate the 127th Philippine Independence Day with an exciting and vibrant event that brings together Filipino families, children, and the local Swedish community. The day will be filled with cultural performances, traditional food, and activities that will highlight the beauty of Filipino culture, history, and traditions.
The goal of this event is to strengthen the sense of identity and belonging among Filipino children and youth living in Sweden, while also fostering cultural exchange with the broader Swedish society. Through this celebration, we hope to promote understanding and appreciation for the diversity of Filipino heritage and showcase our unique contributions to the world.
This event is a cultural and community gathering, free from any political or religious affiliations. Our goal is to bring people together—Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike—to celebrate Philippine culture, history, and traditions in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
No matter your background, beliefs, or nationality, you are invited! Let’s come together in the spirit of unity, friendship, and shared cultural appreciation.
🇵🇭 Celebrate with us—everyone is welcome! ❤️
This event is open to all Filipinos, as well as non-Filipinos interested in learning about our vibrant culture. Registration for pop-up stalls is free. We encourage you to bring your own tables, chairs, and sunshades to ensure a smooth and comfortable setup.
By participating in this exciting event, you’ll be contributing to an inclusive and celebratory atmosphere that unites people from all backgrounds in appreciation of Filipino culture. It’s an amazing opportunity to showcase your business, share your talents, and most importantly, to give back to the community.
This year, we are calling on Filipino businesses, entrepreneurs, performers, artists, and community members to take part in this vibrant event. There are numerous ways for you to get involved and showcase the best of Filipino culture. Here are just a few:
